Meshy ranks No. 31 on a16z's first revenue-based top 50 consumer AI apps list

Andreessen Horowitz published its seventh “Top 100 Gen AI Consumer Apps” report on October 5, 2026, and for the first time ranked entries by monthly revenue instead of web traffic or mobile usage. Meshy landed at No. 31, the only AI 3D company to make the cut, sharing the list with OpenAI, Anthropic, Canva, Superhuman and Higgsfield.

The revenue figures come from YipitData’s U.S. consumer card spending data, which a16z used to show which AI products people actually pay for rather than just open. The firm’s takeaway: leading creative apps on the list mostly run proprietary models, and consumers keep paying for specialized creative tools even as general-purpose image and video models improve. Meshy’s inclusion puts 3D generation alongside language, image, video and music as a category with real paid demand.

The placement follows a fast run for the company. Meshy’s annual recurring revenue recently passed $100 million, a figure we covered when the company said that ARR had grown 100x in under two years while it shipped mobile apps. In July 2026 it closed a Series B of nearly $400 million at a $1.5 billion valuation, which the source describes as the largest funding round in AI 3D to date. Meshy was founded by Ethan Hu and says it has more than 15 million registered users.

Faye Pan, Meshy’s VP of Growth, said the ranking shows “3D has become a category people are willing to pay for.”

For 3D printing specifically, the relevant number is the 15 million registered users: a platform that size turning text and images into printable assets expands the pool of people generating models without CAD skills, which puts pressure on model repositories and print services more than on hardware makers.
