Solukon's SFM-AT850 depowders metal parts up to 1,000 kg

Solukon has launched the SFM-AT850, a depowdering system for laser powder bed fusion metal parts rated for a 1,000 kg load capacity in a 650 x 650 x 800 mm chamber. It replaces two existing models, the SFM-AT800-S and SFM-AT1000-S, which Solukon will phase out once current order batches ship.

Spec SFM-AT850
Load capacity 1,000 kg
Chamber size 650 x 650 x 800 mm
Capacity vs. SFM-AT800-S +700 kg
Capacity vs. SFM-AT1000-S +100 kg
Delivery By end of Q3 2027

Despite the higher capacity, Solukon says the new machine has a smaller overall footprint than the SFM-AT800-S it supersedes. Loading is front-top, and the system runs on Solukon’s SPR-Pathfinder software. Orders open at Formnext 2026, where the SFM-AT850 is set to debut.

Solukon is pitching the machine as a companion to large-format printers, naming the EOS M 4 ONYX and Nikon SLM Solutions’ NXG XII 600 specifically, both of which produce parts large enough to need a depowdering step sized to match.

Two things are new for this model line. Remote maintenance is available on the SFM-AT850 for the first time, and Solukon CEO and CTO Andreas Hartmann said tiered user permissions let production sites restrict who can change basic machine settings. A variant, the SFM-AT850-E, adds ultrasonic excitation, which Hartmann called suited to lattice structures and long internal channels, calling it “gentle and noiseless” compared with pneumatic excitation.

Pricing has not been published. Neither has powder removal time, recovery rate, or what media Solukon lists as compatible beyond the LPBF context named in the launch.
